3-2-1 The Power of Presence, Living Fearlessly, and Crashing Hard
Apr 27, 20253 Insights from Me
1. Helping others is a cheat code
Saturday night, I was leaving the gym, feeling good after a good shoulder and arm pump.
On my way to the car, a woman flagged me down, her battery was dead, and she needed a jump.
Without thinking twice, I said yes. Ten minutes. Just being fully present with a total stranger. Getting her car running again.
When I drove away, I felt fucking great.
Reminded me of an early memory with my dad. We stopped on a lonely dark road in the middle of a Montana blizzard to pull a woman out of a ditch saving her from a snowy hell. He told me "Son, sometimes you just have to help somebody."
Because helping someone else, even for just a few minutes, is one of the fastest ways to forget about your own problems.
2. You get one life
Don’t screw it up by being afraid to live it.
Go first.
Feel fear but make the decision.
Call. Text. Ask.
Lend a hand.
Make the first move.
Help someone for no reward.
Act on your first instinct.
Because doers beat dreamers.
First is far beyond second.
And the world gives to those who initiate, not those who wait for others to do so.
3. Nothing beats working on your own ideas all day
Pulling visions out of your mind and watching them come to life. Obsession. Freedom. That’s the juice AND the squeeze.
2 Quotes from Others
1. On mental flexibility:
“The measure of intelligence is the ability to change.”
— Albert Einstein
Rigid thinking kills growth. Stay adaptable. Your next breakthrough usually lives outside your comfort zone.
2. On the quiet power of presence:
“To pay attention, this is our endless and proper work.”
— Mary Oliver
I'm working on being better at this. Business, relationships, creativity—all of it improves when you learn to be where your feet are. In a distracted world, your presence is your advantage.
1 Question for You
If you knew the plane was gonna crash, would you still board it just because you spent a lot of money on the ticket?
I’m not talking about planes.
P.S. This is what happens when you live a little TOO fearlessly. Insane. (LINK)
